Citibank Rewards Credit Card Review

To me, it's just another basic credit card that's it and no great shakes.

However, the annual fee is not too much and easily reversible so one can consider having it as it will be basically free.

Furthermore; currently, Citibank doesn't have a great collection of credit cards to offer so you are not really having too much of a choice. Narrowing the Citi-cards, this one is decent.

Here's how :

⋆ You get 1,000 bonus points on your first Rs 1,000 spend made within 60 days of Card issue date (that's technically Rs 350)

⋆ Get 300 bonus points on card purchase of INR 30,000 or more in a month

⋆ 10 reward points per Rs.125 at apparel and department stores else 1 RP/125
Note that 10X Reward Points are capped at Rs 7,000 (or 560 points) per month. For spends above that, you earn 1 point per Rs 125

Good stuff is that your points never expire and you have host of options to redeem your points such as:

Cashback: 1 reward point = Rs. 0.35

Minimum points required to be redeemed is 5000.
(I always choose this option as redeeming it for Cashback gives you the best value. Redeem 5000 points & get Rs 1750 credited in your card)

Below is the SS for 5657 points that I last redeemed -

Fuel Redemption & Online shopping:

1 reward point = Rs. 0.25
Minimum points required to be redeemed is 250

In-store shopping:
1 reward point = Rs. 0.30
Minimum points required to be redeemed is 250

Air Miles:
1 reward point = 0.75 miles.
Minimum points required to be redeemed is 100

(This is the worst option to redeem your RP. I never suggest to go for it)

Annual Fee: INR 1000

(Waived if you spend just Rs 30,000 in a year)

I mostly use this card when I need hard cash. Citibank often offers 'Loan on Card' option wherein the funds directly gets credited in your bank account in a day or two.
